Tamiya 1/24 Porsche Gt2 Street Version – 24247

Among the models in the 1993 debut type 993 Porsche 911 line-up was a road car developed in line with GT2 regulations, aptly named the 911 GT2. Its 3.6-liter horizontally opposed 6-cylinder engine was teamed up with a pair of KKK turbochargers for a most impressive output of 450hp, which the 911 GT2 parlayed via a 6-speed transmission into some astounding numbers: a 0-100km/h time of 3.9 seconds, and a top speed exceeding 300km/h. Aluminum front hood and door panels contributed to a seriously light car, while the front spoiler was designed to contribute to brake cooling; screw-fixed over-sized fenders, a rear wing with air ducts and a spartan roll cage-equipped interior meant the car really looked the part, too. Of the approximately 170 911 GT2s produced 57 were of the road-legal “club sport” variety – as a rare model with high performance, the 911 GT2 garnered massive attention from Porsche fans the world over.
