A former New York Central subsidiary, by 1979 it had struck out on its own but was caught as the region’s steel industry collapsed in the mid-1980s. The road finally threw in the towel on September 12, 1992 and was sold to CSX. Take a tour of the last 30 years of this once proud railroad through 300 color photographs.
