HO Rail Heater – Silver Spike Designs

Articulated rail heater unit.  This machine is used to heat up a new welded rail segment to a neutral temperature prior to spiking it down in place.  Prototype unit is approximately 80′ long, and is made up of three articulating sections, the power unit, the burner unit, and the front idler car.  In some uses, two of these machines are drawbarred together and used in tandem.  Get out the hot dogs!
