Column of Shadow is a grainy ritual, an array of seventies, occult moods, and the synth soundtrack to a diabolical film soon to see the dark of day. With nods toward kosmische Musik in tender scenes and unnerving ceremonies, it is folk horror in reverse, whereby the past visits the modern world like sounds of old locating a new home in the present that embraces them.
