About Francis “Gabby” Gabreski

Colonel Francis S. Gabreski was one of America’s top fighter aces, with 28 aerial victories in World War II flying the P-47 Thunderbolt and 6.5 victories in the Korean War flying the F-86 Sabre. His remarkable career spanned both propeller and jet aircraft eras, making him one of only seven U.S. pilots to achieve ace status in two different wars.
