1/35 Trumpeter M920 Tractor tow M870A1 Semi Trailer – 1078

The M920 is part of the M915 series of military trucks built by A.M General Corp. It is designed to transport heavy loads on semitrailers both on and off roads. The truck has a longer wheelbase compared to the M916 and features an air-operated “pusher axle” rated at 20,000 lbs for extra payload capacity, as well as Jake brakes on the engine.

Behind the cab, there is a 45,000 lb hydraulic-powered winch and an oversized fifth wheel for trailers using 3-inch kingpins. The M920 is powered by the Cummins Model NTC-400 engine, delivering 400 bhp at 2100 rpm, coupled with a Caterpillar 7155 air-shift semi-automatic transmission (16 forward gears, 2 reverse) and a centrifugal clutch. The truck features air exhaust drum brakes.

The M920 Truck, Tractor MET, 8×6 w/winch is equipped with a pusher axle to equalize the load on the rear axles, ensuring better load distribution and stability during transport.
